Kristy Caldwell is a New York-based illustrator who uses visual and written narratives to explore imagination as a tool for shaping perception and developing creative agency. Her portfolio spans publications, exhibition, and performance. 

She has illustrated 13 children’s books, including picture books focused on community engagement around historical themes, like Flowers for Sarajevo, a 2017 New York Public Library Best Book for Kids and one of Bank Street College of Education’s Best Children’s Books of the Year. Her illustrations have been recognized by Communication Arts, American Illustration, and 3x3 magazine. She is an Assistant Professor at Queens College, CUNY.
